So, I haven’t been blogging… pt 3

In addition to editing and writing reviews, here’s what else I’ve been up to:

Blanket I’m crocheting.

• Hooking. Get your minds out of the gutter, people! 🙂 That means I’ve been crocheting! I’m working on a baby blanket for a friend of mine. His first child, a girl, is due sometime this month. I love crocheting and making things. It’s so wonderful to create something that will (hopefully) be treasured.

For the record, knitting uses TWO needles with no hooks, and crochet uses ONE needle WITH a hook. Hence, I’m a “hooker”.

By the way, shameless plug: the holidays are coming up, with all their attendant gift-giving opportunities. Check out my store on Artfire and my website for great gifts. I’ve got scarves, bookmarks, paintings, photographs, crocheted snowflakes, jewelry, and more for sale, all at reasonable prices. I’m also happy to create special orders. Just contact me.

• Traveling. This always sounds way more fun than it actually is. Especially when it’s not for pleasure.

A photo from the shoot. I don’t usually play around with photoshop other than a few fixes, but I thought it might be fun to put the mama and baby’s hands on a sepia-toned background.

• Collecting answers for The Questions. That’s right, I’ve got some great ones coming up. Artist Bryan Wilson; one of my best friends, Brandi, who insisted on participating and whose answers are quite humorous; author Jason McIntyre, who answered EVERY SINGLE ONE of The Questions, which means he doesn’t pay any attention to instructions that say “pick SEVEN”; K.D. McCrite, author of the darling Confessions of April Grace series; and author/illustrator duo Christi Zellerhoff and Amy Davis on their upcoming children’s picture book Princesses Can Be Pirates Too!.

• Shooting a Family. Again, you people suspect the worst! I had the distinct honor of taking some family photographs. I like to shoot people, but I don’t do it a ton. Probably because I’m so busy with so many other things.

The four guys and one gal went with me to Baker Prairie here in Harrison and I took almost 500 photos before my battery died. And, as luck would have it, my spare battery was dead as well.

But we had a good time just tromping around and me shooting.

Another shameless plug: if you want me to shoot you, all you have to do is ask! My rates are reasonable, and I give you a CD of all the “good” images so you can do whatever you want with them. No need to order prints from me (unless you want to), and I don’t include my watermark.

So, what have you been up to? Anything interesting?
