F is for…

Once again, I’ve come upon a letter that has stumped me. I mean, I can’t very well talk about my favorite word that starts with that letter (and rhymes with yuck)… again, trying to keep it clean for the audience back home… tho I have many many witnesses as to my using that ever-so-helpful and stress-relieving word… And I really wanted to use it this morning, when something went horribly awry with my web server and my blog went down. (Otherwise, this would have been posted at 10am or so!)

So I turned to my friends for ideas. The Book Hipster herself suggested suggested that I discuss friends, and although I do luuurrrveee my friends (some more so than others, ha ha!), and could wax poetic about how important it is to have some, real friends, good friends, friends you would trust with the secrets of your soul… Well, that’s pretty much all I have to say on that subject. At least this early (for me) in the morning.

Another friend, Brandi (aka my Twinkie, who answered The Questions), suggested “frozen, furry, fantasy, farms, forever, farts, frogs, foreigners, freedom, Fritos, fun“. I’m not sure if she meant Frozen, the movie, which I haven’t seen or something actually frozen, like ice cream; furry goes back to cats, which I shan’t go on about any more than I already have; see below for fantasy; I’ve nothing to say about farms except YAY! we need ’em; forever is very long time; no one wants to hear about my farting issues; I like frogs; I like foreigners too (especially since Brandi herself is was one 🙂 ); YAY for freedom; Fritos in chocolate is delicious; and we all need more fun in our lives.

Last night my writer friend A. Carina Barry suggested I write about fantasy and which tales stand out for me and why they grabbed my attention… but I think I shall hang on to that topic for when I create my So You Want to be a Writer… series on my blog here.

Last night I also had a nice text convo with my birthday twin, Betsy (also an answerer of The Questions), and her initial suggestions were friends, food, films, fantasies, freaks, fake people, findings (like a great antique piece, book) and fur! Apparently “friends” is a popular topic – or at least my friends want me to write about them and make them famous or something. Betsy and I constantly talk about food, or more specifically, how we’re hungry, and how we want to go to Waffle House, Spoon (a yummy Thai restaurant with the tastiest coconut soup), or Tony’s (an Italian joint where all the recipes are from the old country and their tiramisu is the most delicious thing you will ever put in your mouth….). She goes to films way more than I do, and she’s more into the popular ones while I prefer the indies no one’s ever heard of. Again, I’ll skip fantasies; I’ll proudly admit to being a freak, as well as proudly admit to not liking fake people. Findings I sorta talked about in my C is for Collections post, and fur… well, that goes right back to cats. And dogs.

But then Betsy and I started talking about how I could write about the future, but not the future as it might be from today, but the future as it turned out from when we were in high school together. I mean, we’re still waiting on our transporter buttons, but who knew we’d have iPods and smart phones and the Internet and computers (when we were in HS, only the worst geeks used those…) and laser and robotic surgeries and cars that practically do everything for you but wash themselves! Course, we were also pretty certain we’d be flying around a la the Jetsons, but that hasn’t happened yet….

And then I got all of these helpful ideas on Facebook this morning:

• Fulminating? Foment?; fantasy (a suggestion from one of my partners in this little adventure, Chad Clark)
• Flatulence 🙂 (and again, I shan’t bore y’all with those issues) came from my author pal A.J. Aalto‘s hilarious editor Rafe Brox – I mean seriously, the two of them should take that show on the road – plus he also provided Fine finks fluoresce festively. and Forty-five fingers flail for forgotten fandango flippers., while A.J., the writerghoulie herself, commented You can do a lot with fermentation. Since she writes a lot about murders, I’m not quite sure how to take that one…
• Fellow writer and crazy dude Mark suggested Fun, Flashy, Foolish, Fuel, Foreign, Forest, french… – and I’m unsure why, of all of those words, “french” is the only one lowercased.
• My sister-in-law suggested these: Friends, family, Flowbees, falafel?, even tho I have no idea what a “Flowbees” is, and am not such a fan of falafel.

So, what is F for? Apparently, a whole bunch of random items… What are your favorites from this lengthy list?
