#dSavannahDefects – O is for…

My theme this year for the #AtoZchallenge is #dSavannahDefects, aka “What’s it’s like dealing with #InvisibleIllnesses”. Or, in short, {some of} what’s wrong with me.

O … okay

This is going to be the absolute shortest post in this here #AtoZChallenge. You’re welcome.

One of the biggest struggles of having #InvisibleIllnesses is ever feeling okay. Seriously. You mostly feel like dog doo. So days when you do feel okay, you tend to use more energy than you really have. Like I did with my journey. (I’m still paying for that, by the way).

Thanks to some commenters on this here blog, I’ve been reading a lot about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and I really think that I have that. One of the best suggestions I read was “estimate how much energy you have, then use 50% of it”.  I totally need to do that. Because I tend to push myself. I always have. And I have to learn that pushing myself is bad for my overall health and well-being.

So here, for your viewing and listening pleasure, is Ingrid Michaelson singing what I suggest we #InvisibleIllnessesWarriors use for our theme song, from the album of the same name:

P.S. This song and post goes out to someone very important in my life. You know who you are. And, it’s “okay”. All my love.

 As my doctor says, don’t do anything that will put you in bed all the next day.

  4. I don’t know what to say, but you’re opening a completely new window for me to see other peoples’ lives through. I wish you all the okay in the world.

      Then my plan is working!

Thank you for stopping by and reading. Opening eyes truly is one of the reasons I’m putting all this out there. That and to let people know they are not alone in their struggles.

I definitely live by the spoon theory – at the beginning of each day I have a certain number of spoons full of energy and each task needs a different number of spoons to complete it. Some days I go a bit mad and use too many and then the next day I have to do without. But I’m okay.
    Hugs.

I guess you have to remember when you are feeling okay, not to overdo it. I also guess that your “okay” is a different level now.

Whatcha think? Tell me, tell me!
