Woot! Woot!<\/p>\n

For the third year in a row, I have signed up to participate in the #AtoZ Blogging Challenge<\/a>, which means for the month of April, I will write and publish a blog post every day, except Sundays, starting with the letter A and working my way through the alphabet.<\/p>\n

The last two years, I’ve been a pantser (as in, writing by the seat of my pants; I had no idea day to day what topic I would write about).<\/p>\n

This year, I decided to write about a particular topic as a way to Shine a Light Into Dark Places in our world, which is one of my goals with this blog. I’ve actually been {gasp} planning<\/em> my topic for each day… since January! (And as of 2\/27, when I’m writing the first draft of this post, I have topics for every day except J, K, R, and U. No doubt I’ll have those sorted before I come back to edit this post. Update 3\/20: I’m still trying to figure out U & K…)<\/p>\n

So, what am I going to write about?<\/p>\n

Well, first, you should know that doing the challenge means I won’t be posting #FictionFriday<\/a> (though I may post for the Insecure Writers Support Group<\/a>, because as of 3\/18, I already have one written).<\/p>\n

Second, I want to visit other\u00a0#AtoZ bloggers<\/a> (1,223 signed up as of 3\/19!!!) and promote other writers, specifically my partners in this challenge (who may or may not be doing a theme reveal):<\/p>\n

    By the way, if you’d like to check out some of the themes, the list of theme reveal participants is on the #AtoZ website<\/a>. (“Only” 421 people signed up to reveal… So, pop some popcorn and surf away!)<\/p>\n

    Third, I really hope to use these posts as a forum for providing good information on a variety of topics in my theme. To again, Shine a Light into those Dark Places, places that most people don’t talk about. Places that most people don’t want to talk about, or know about, but that we should all think about and consider. And to let people who walk these paths know they are are not alone, even if their paths look different. This is important: You are NOT alone in your suffering, whatever it may be.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

    Fourth, I hope I am able to write in a way that is interesting and humorous and makes you think.<\/p>\n

    Fifth (and finally, I promise), I am using the challenge to force me to WRITE.<\/p>\n

    So (drum roll), my theme is:<\/p>\n

    \"dsavannah_defects_noballs\"Yup, that’s dSavannah defects<\/b><\/span>. (The wordsmith in me is delighted that “defects” can be both a noun or a verb. In this case, it’s a noun. I wish it was a verb; that I was defecting to a {mostly} deserted island that served perfect health and scrumptious desserts.)<\/p>\n

    More specifically, my topic covers the issues with my health, the invisibility of my illnesses, what’s wrong with my well-being, the crap with my constitution, the fail in my fitness, the ick in my infirmities, my malaise and my maladies, the distress of my disorders (and defects), my dang decrepitudes, and my doldrums and deliriums.<\/p>\n

    Sounds fun, huh?<\/p>\n

    Well, I will do my best not to be too depressing in my exploration of the above, and I thank everyone who is coming along for the ride on this #AtoZChallenge2016.<\/p>\n
