Enjoy!

The Questions

5. What skill do you wish you’d learned as a kid?

Probably something musical, like piano. I love music, but never learned an instrument fully as a child. And I think it’s important for kids to have a good balance between learning core education and the arts. Now if only I could convince my 9yr old that learning to play an instrument would be good for her!

(dSavannah note: I got one year of piano lessons as a kid. Wish I’d been able to have more. But to this day, I can still play one of the first songs I learned using John Thompson’s Modern Course for the Piano: First Grade Book. And I actually still have the book!)

6. What do you want on your tombstone?

I don’t want one! I want to be cremated and have my loved ones scatter my ashes over Kitchen Creek and anywhere else they feel a connection to me. That way they won’t feel obligated to visit a cemetery plot to remember me by.

(dSavannah note: Me either! Only my ashes are to be scattered on the ocean.)

8. Your favorite book growing up? You favorite book now?

I read my first Stephen King book, It, when I was 12 yrs old. It started my love for all things horror and suspenseful, and to this day, many of my favorite books are still King books. I’d have to say though, that It scarred me for life. I still jump over gutters and avoid clowns.

(dSavannah note: Well, clowns are evil.)

11. What three items will always be found in your refrigerator?

Hmmm…Almond Milk, at least one slice of tofurky, and probably lettuce. Yep, we are Vegetarians. LOL

13. Are you a morning person or a night owl?

OMG I’m neither! Seriously, it’s hard for me to stay up late unless it’s because I’m writing. And I loathe being up before dawn. So, I guess I’m a mid-day kinda person. Does such a thing exist? LOL

(dSavannah note: Sure! Illustrator Amy Davis confessed to being a mid-morning person when she answered The Questions.)

14. Obviously, as a creative person, every day is different, but what do you find yourself doing every day?

I have kids. So the only thing I do EVERY day is yell. LOL Joking aside – my days are pretty normal for a mom who is at home all day. I homeschool, I write when the kids have down time, and I pretend to clean the house. Sometimes I manage to pick up the phone and call or text a friend. And on REALLY good days, I get something other than a bill in the mail. 😉

17. What is your biggest regret?

Well, I don’t like regrets. None of us would be where we are today without experiencing our lives just as we have. BUT, with that said, I suppose my regret with my writing would be spending over ten years telling myself ‘I want to be a writer one day’ and not actually writing. It was a waste of a decade…putting my dream on the back burner and hoping it would become a reality all on its own. Dreams do not work like that. No one wakes up and suddenly becomes what they want to be – it takes time, hard work, and patience. Now that I have the motivation, I chastise myself for taking so long to become an Author. Dreams are attainable; you just have to want them badly enough…and risk reaching for them.

(dSavannah note: Amen sister!)

About Trish:

Trish was born and mostly raised in San Diego, California, where she lives now with her family and pets.
