The Questions with Betsy Madden: Birthday Twin & Bibliophile (pt. 3)

711And for the final day of our birthday celebration, here are the answers to the remainder of The Questions, as answered by my birthday twin, Betsy. If you missed them, please go read Part 1 and Part 2.

<—- Seven. Eleven. Not just a convenience store. It’s also an awesome birthday.

(This post may – or may not – be later than usual because we were out late last night celebrating some more.)

The Questions, 31-45

31. What aspect of your art gets you passionate, gets you excited? What gets you pumped?

My hubby says I get excited when I get to plan. I also get pumped when I am working on something for someone else.

(dSavannah note: This is true. Betsy served as my personal librarian to get me set up as an author on Goodreads. You would have thought I’d handed her the keys to the Library of Congress.)

34. Why did you agree to this interview?

I think I asked to answer them earlier in the year because I just love seeing the answers and your comments. Your blog always makes me smile.

(dSavannah note: True. Betsy did indeed ask if she could answer The Questions, and again, who am I to deny someone’s greatest {or littlest} wish?)

35. Tell me one random fact about you that not a lot of people know.

I am related to Meriwether Lewis from Lewis and Clark, the explorers.

(dSavannah note: Isn’t that cool?)

36. What is the first thing you remember creating as a child? Do you still have it?

I cannot remember creating one single thing when I was little, much less the first thing.

(dSavannah note: Born on the same day, yet so different… *shakes head*)

37. If you could redo one conversation from your past, what would it be and who with?

I am not going there for public eyes. :)

38. What would you do if you could make yourself invisible?

What a question! There are plenty of times that I wished I was a fly on the wall so I guess if I was invisible I could get my wish. I could go and hear conversations behind closed doors.

39. What super power do you wish you had?

Not really a super power, but I wish I could speed read so I could get through more books. Reading people’s minds would be pretty cool, too.

(dSavannah note: Except I bet reading people’s minds might get boring after a while. You’d hear things like “oh, I forgot to turn the oven off. Or did I? He’s cute. Where am I supposed to turn? This spreadsheet is giving me a headache.” And on and on….)

40. Sci-fi or fantasy? Or neither?

Neither…mystery/suspense/thriller. Give me a book or movie with serial killers and profilers, and I am happy.

(dSavannah note: This is true. Although I have managed to persuade Betsy to read non-thriller books, she has yet to persuade me to read gory mysteries. I just can’t stomach it.)

41. If I looked at your bookshelf, what book would you be embarrassed for me to find?

You – nothing. You know I am crazy. It’s not on my bookshelf, but I guess I am embarrassed that I read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and actually liked them. Don’t hate me, people. And before you ask…no, I am not interested in any movie from the books.

(dSavannah note: That is true. I know you are crazy! :) Plus, I guess it takes one to know one…)

42. What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?

I have so many weird dreams that I am not sure I could pick the weirdest one. Mine usually are realistic with a little twist. For example, I had this dream where I was visiting my friends at a development where they built a house. It was a long, long story, but basically the houses were in trees. Inside their house, each room had a different tree. They all kind of covered the ceilings. Lastly, they had 2 cats, 2 dogs, a huge turtle, and 2 alligators—one was stuffed and the other was a real one. I have no idea what any of that means, and I am pretty sure I do not want to know either. (BTW, these friends have cats only.)

(dSavannah note: I’m stumped. {Ba-dum!})

43. If you could snap your fingers and be transported to anywhere in the universe, real or imaginary, where would you want to end up?

I would love to be in TN right now with my hubby. I also would love to be in Cranberry Island, Maine (Gray Whale Inn Mystery series by Karen MacInerney). It is such a quaint town with wonderful townspeople.

44. How far back can you trace your ancestry?

My grandfather traced it back pretty far, but I really have no idea. I am not even sure where all the paperwork is anymore.

(dSavannah note: That’s a shame!)

45. Which one of these questions would you like me to answer?

All of them. :)

(dSavannah note: I suppose someday I probably should…)

Thanks everyone for reading the answers as provided by my birthday twin!
